Each year the Columbia Valley Community Foundation invests in people, ideas and activities that enhance the quality of life and strengthen our communities.

The Foundation creates connections valley-wide by inspiring donors to give and then connecting their funds to the projects and ideas brought to life on the front-lines – through our capable charitable organizations delivering programs and services in the areas of highest need.

  • Access the Valley is a community initiative supported and locally funded by the Columbia Valley Community Foundation and the CV Greenways Trail Alliance.

  • In 2017, CBAL was successful in obtaining a grant for "Love 2 Learn". This program supports children's literacy through age-appropriate crafts, stories and playtime.  

  • The Hospice Society of the Columbia Valley exists to promote health by relieving conditions associated with end of life in our Columbia Valley communities.

  • In 2017, the Lake Windermere Ambassadors Society was successful in obtaining a grant to revitalize their summer and winter stewardship guides for Lake Windermere.

  • In 2017, the Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club was successful in obtaining a grant for their Youth Skill Development Program. This grant allowed the club to purchase additional youth ski equipment. 

  • The Summit Youth Centre Hub has a fully immersive virtual reality (VR) system with the equipment and ability to experience a variety of entertaining and educational scenarios.
