Recognizing that poverty reduces the likelihood of high school graduation, “SIS” financially supports at-risk students to help them stay in school. With the sole criteria of regular attendance at school, “SIS” supports each participating student anonymously through grade school until graduation. This fund will additionally support a student’s participation in extra-curricular activities (music/sports/art etc.) that are enjoyed by their classmates that might otherwise be unattainable to them.
The conviction is that participatory education makes youth stronger and more able to walk comfortably with their peers, now and into their future.
