Community Foundation Fund Environmental Education

For Environment. For Education. For Ever.

This Fund fosters environmental stewardship and sustainability by supporting environmental educators through the Columbia Basin Environmental Education Network (CBEEN), a registered charity supporting environmental learning in the local region.

CBEEN - Wild Voices

CBEEN‘s head office is in Invermere, and its Wild Voices for Kids program is strongly rooted in the Columbia Valley. This program is a legacy of the Wings over the Rockies Festival and has been running for over 20 years. This program offers 75 different programs by more than 40 local community educators to thousands of students across the local region every year.

CBEEN understands that environmental education (EE) is a long-term investment in the general health and well-being of individuals, communities, ecosystems and the planet. Their goal in establishing this Endowment Fund is to help their programs become more sustainable knowing that environmental learning will only become more important over time.

Like a tree, the best time to plant a seed for an endowment fund is 20 years ago. The second best time is now.
